- : It's not missing, it's just not standard. There's APP of course (for several
- : compilers), and I hear Maxon C++ comes with an excellent class library for
- : interfacing with the OS. I wouldn't be surprised if there were others as well

- Well, to say you the truth, these classes are in no way as powerful as
- those available for other systems. If you have once worked with VisualAge
- under OS/2 or Symantecs Think class (bedrock) under Mac you will never
- look back at what is available on the Amiga. Even the Bebox with their
- CodeWarrior port will have something really cool.
-
- Iam not bashing the Amiga in any way. Iam busy developing my program
- on the Amiga, but you just have to acknowledge that there is no
- integrated development system available which is as powerful as on
- other systems. This is no fault of the Amiga developers, the PC/Mac
- guys have just 100 times the budget and manpower to work on something
- really special. I just hope that, once the PowerAmiga is available,
- companies like Symantec or Metrowerks will port their environment
- to the PowerAmiga platform, but i think this is just wishful thinking.

- :
- : Why not? Did the Microsoft User Interface Squad just blow up the headquarters
- : of the team that's doing the port? If so I haven't read about it in the
- : newspapers.
- :
- : What's the deal here? Why the pessimism?
-
- Iam not pessimistic, in truth i did not even know that work on a java port
- has even begun. Do you have a contact address ?
